Auto-Assignment Rules
The Auto-Assignment Rules enables you to define qualification criteria and automate assignment of Work Plan to Work Orders or Service Products. You can create specific rules for Work Orders and Service Products, defining the attributes of Work Orders or Service Products for Work Plan assignment.
This automation streamlines the management of large volumes of Work Orders and Service Products, ensuring consistency in assignments and significantly reducing the risk of manual effort and errors.
When the Perform Auto Assignment checkbox is selected on a Work Order or Service Product, the Work Plan assignment engine runs and evaluates the rules in sequence to find Work Orders or Service Products that qualifies the rule. Based on the configuration, either a specific work plan or work plan(s) that match the criteria are assigned to the Work Order or Service Product. You can configure auto-assignment rules in any of the following ways:
Apply Specific Work Plan: In the rule, you can select one or more pre-defined Work Plans to be assigned for qualified Work Orders or Service Products upon creation. Configuring Rules to Assign Specific Work Plan.
Automatically Pick Work Plan: In each rule, you can define fields to match from the Work Order or Service Product. When the values in these fields match the field data specified in the "Applies To" section of a Work Plan Template, the corresponding Work Plan is automatically assigned to the qualifying Work Orders or Service Products upon their creation.
