Depot Service Request in 25.1
The Depot Service Request feature enables end users such as customers and support agents to initiate service requests for faulty assets or products that need service in a depot environment. You can submit request from Account, Work Order, Case, and community portal. The process involves providing necessary details, selecting the products that need service, and submitting the request for further action.
This enables a more efficient, accurate, and scalable depot process by eliminating inconsistencies that often lead to increased time and resource consumption in managing depot operations and reporting systems.
Using Depot Service Request, you can assign appropriate depot for the product and select logistic services based on the customer’s service contract. By default, the engine assigns the product to the most suitable depot. You can change the depot based on your requirements.
Upon request submission, work orders or service products are automatically created for each item, with relevant logistic work plans assigned based on the selected service, streamlining the repair process. The created work orders or service products appear in the Depot Queue under the Logistic section, enabling supervisors or technicians to perform logistics tasks according to the associated work plan.
Use Case
A support agent initiates a Depot Service Request from a customer’s Account for a faulty printer. The system auto-assigns a suitable depot for the product. The support agent can select the logistic services based on the customer’s service contract.
After submission, a Work Order is automatically created along with the assigned Work Plan. The request appears in the Depot Queue under Logistic, where a supervisor dispatches a technician to complete logistics tasks, ensuring timely delivery to the assigned depot.
