The following are the upgrade considerations for Work Plan and Task Management across different versions:

25.2
The Create Work Order Service Product package flow is enhanced to perform automatic work plan assignment and auto entitlement check on the Service Product and Work Plan that are created. It is recommended to keep the package at a lower version or disable the flow if it is not required.
The relationship between Work Plan and Work Plan Assignment has been changed from Master-Detail to Lookup. After installing the package, review and update any custom code that references the deleted field.

It is recommended to delete the Master-Detail field, SVMXC__SM_WorkPlanId after the upgrade. However, the system still supports scenarios where both fields coexist in the org.
25.1
To add DataGuide Form and DataGuide Document Template as a linked activity to a Work Plan’s Task:
• Execute ServiceMax Configurator.
• Ensure that you have installed DataGuide package.
• Ensure that you have assigned Seat license to the logged in user.
24.2
When upgrading to 24.2 version, ensure that the GBL031 (Module: Common; Submodule: Global Settings) setting is enabled to prevent users without access from creating work plans or tasks.
